Why use Clay Pavers?
WHAT ARE CLAY BRICK PAVERS?
Clay pavers, otherwise known as clay paving bricks, have been a preferred choice for designers, architects and landscapers. Paving has been a favoured building material by people who recognise the durability, longevity and other characteristics of clay bricks. Not to mention the creative possibilities that exist with general facing bricks really make them a great choice for modern domestic and commercial builds. It’s the same for paving.
Decorative clay paving is also proving an increasingly popular choice for commercial building applications, as opposed to the rather restrictive alternative, concrete. By no means are we saying that concrete is a bad choice, but with our range of clay brick paving products, you can create some intricate, unique designs and patterns using a variety of colours.
REASONS TO USE CLAY PAVERS
One of the many unique aspects of clay brick paving slabs is how versatile they are, both in colour and in design. Modular Clay Products definitely know what makes clay pavers so useful. We are commercial brick suppliers with a proven track record of supplying bespoke brick blends, and various other materials for many architects and brick manufacturers.
Here are just some of the many advantages of brick paving.
- Appearance – because paving slabs are fired in a kiln, like traditional bricks, they keep their colours fresh and lively over the period of their lives. Their appearance is not hindered by any UV lighting, which commonly affects the aesthetics of concrete paving. It’s not uncommon to find paving that have the designs and colours of many of our glazed bricks, long format bricks and brick slips.
- Choice – they are available in a variety of sizes, with different colour finishes to suit any location. They also provide architects with a multitude of design options for brick paving patterns and bond styles.
- Maintenance – Modular Clay Products’ brick paving needs very little, if any, maintenance. They are resistant to weather conditions and not susceptible to petrol, oil, rubber, dirt and grit, with brick paving expected to last for an exceptionally long time.
- Durable – brick paving slabs have exceptional hardness, and can last an incredibly long time. Brick clay pavers can be recycled numerous times and as such, retain a high residual value. They can withstand an enormously high level of loading, much like engineering bricks.
- Environmentally-friendly – they are a kiln-dried product made from a readily available, naturally occurring substance. No environmentally damaging products are used in their production, with many manufacturers opting for more sustainable methods
- Slip resistance – clay paving can provide perfect traction for you to drive and walk on without slipping, even on wet driveways or steep pathways. This makes them perfect for wet areas which are prone to heavy footfall, such as swimming pool pathways, as well as any commercial footpaths.
- Cost-effective – they provide an excellent repair and recycle solution. If they are ever damaged, it’s just a case of simply replacing a broken tile with a new one, which obviously saves on maintenance and replacement costs for other types of paving. Clay paver suppliers recommend buying more than you need, just in case some accidentally get broken or stained.
- Fast installation – they can be laid in almost any moderate or mild weather conditions. In addition to them being quick and easy to install, they are ready to be used immediately after the installation process has completed.
