Stone Facade Systems

Our stone facade systems are the perfect showcase for the incredible qualities of natural stone and the latest generation of porcelain.

Revered for its beautiful colours and graining aesthetics, natural stone looks truly spectacular. Better still, it also withstands severe weather and keeps its aesthetic appeal in cold and wet environments. Stone facade systems can be ventilated for cladding and are in high demand for their high resistance to impact or wear and tear.

We find that limestones and sandstones are ideal for exteriors and give any building a minimalist, on-trend look. Their white and cream colours see them used widely in architecture, especially in the Mediterranean region.

Modular Clay Products offer several other materials for stone facades, including large-size porcelain and natural stone, such as travertine. We also recommend granite, the hardest-wearing natural product on the market, hence its popularity for exterior walls. Read on to learn more.

Granite

Granite is an ageless material that meets today’s constructional demands.

It’s unique qualities enable the creation of enveloping skins that cover the volumes of contemporary homes and the silhouettes of commercial buildings with an avant-garde flair.

All of the granites we offer for highly efficient facade and external wall cladding have two essential qualities that go hand in hand. The first is its serene, permanent beauty, and the second - just as valuable - is its high functional capacity, embodied in extreme hardness and immutability.

Benefits of Granite

  • Granite is resistant to UV radiation and maintains its colour from the first day.
  • The granite from the Levantina collection is resistant to high temperatures on the surface.
  • Its low porosity makes this material resistant to stains.

Limestone & Sandstone

Both types of stone possess a series of physical/mechanical characteristics that give them highly-valued properties for the cladding of ventilated or bonded facades.

Their low thermal conductivity allows them to act as insulators in extreme weather conditions, while their high bending resistance enables the thickness to be reduced, making structures lighter.

Travertine Facades

External walls require strong materials capable of withstanding every kind of atmospheric condition without deterioration while remaining beautiful.

Travertines are always in demand for their natural elegance and proven imperviousness in all weathers. Indeed, some of the most iconic constructions from antiquity are still standing today because they were built in travertine.
